AWE Rwanda Bootcamp

The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs program was created to provide women with the knowledge, networks, and access they need to start and grow successful businesses. The AWE program is a flexible educational opportunity that combines the online platform DreamBuilder with locally provided content, mentoring, and facilitation. Through DreamBuilder, a cohort of women learn core business skills such as strategic planning, marketing and finance, and then discuss the material with local facilitators and business partners. The program seeks to promote women’s social and economic empowerment, by teaching enterprising women how to launch and scale their businesses. AWE reinforces peer-to-peer learning, networking, and cohesion among the graduating classes of women entrepreneurs, while also demonstrating local business growth. AWE Rwanda has proven to be customized, impactful and a lifetime opportunity for our Kigali and Bugesera graduates. We look forward to reaching out to other participants from other parts of Rwanda. AWE Achievement The program will be carried out by the U.S. Embassy, in partnership with Igire Rwanda Organization and Noble Women. AWE uses DreamBuilder, an online training program on women’s entrepreneurship developed through a partnership between Arizona State University’s Thunderbird School of Management and Freeport-McMoRan. The curriculum teaches women to create their own business plans, understand how to raise capital, and connect with networks of successful business owners.

Meet the Women Transforming Rwanda's Tech Landscape

SheCanCODE has changed my life in a way I can not easily explain. First it introduced me to the world of software development, gave the the training and confidence I needed, and then opened my eyes to opportunities available in the software development market. I love SheCanCODE to the point that whenever I get the time, I visit my younger sisters and motivate them.

Kamikazi Deborah

Kamikazi Deborah From no experience in Coding to becoming a best performer and later gaining opportunities to join advanced programs and later a job, SheCanCode set me to a trajectory for success, something I believe that I would not be able to get if I did not join the training. I can not stress enough how much SheCanCODE is changing lives.
