“Six months ago, if you told me I’d be standing here talking about coding, I would have said, ‘Coding? I can barely figure out why my phone stops working!”

Munezero,, a recent graduate of the SheCanCode Cohort 13 bootcamp, shared with a laugh. Her story is a testament to the transformative power of the program, an initiative by Igire Rwanda Organization under the Digital Skills for Employability (DSE) Program.

Aline describes the start of her journey as a moment of divine providence. “‘For I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you hope for a future.’ And honestly? This program was God’s plan for us, and what a beautiful plan it was!” Aline explained.

Aline emphasized that the success of the bootcamp wasn’t just about the coding lessons. She spoke passionately about the community that supported her and her fellow students. “Success isn’t just about the big names and the fancy certificates. It’s about everyone who believed in us,” she said, her voice full of gratitude.

Aline also shared a message for other young people, especially young women who might be hesitant to enter the tech world.

“If you think tech is too hard, I thought the same thing. If you think you don’t belong in tech, let me tell you: tech needs you! Your creativity, your ideas, and your fresh perspective—that’s what will make technology better.”

For her and the 30+ women in her cohort, this is just the beginning. “We’re not just learning to code—we’re coding our own futures!” she exclaimed.

“We’re going to build apps that solve real problems. We’re going to start companies. We’re going to create jobs. We’re going to show the world what young Rwandan women can do when we set our minds to it!”

Aline concluded by celebrating her achievement. “I did it! I learned, I grew, I conquered my fears, and now I am ready to conquer the tech world!” she declared, her eyes filled with pride. “The future is bright, the future is digital, and the future is ours!”
